Washington, D.C. – For the last seven years, according to Congressman Jim Moran, “we have been guided by a Republican administration that believes in the simplistic notion that people that have wealth are entitled to keep it.” Actually, that “simplistic notion” has been the lynchpin of the American system of free enterprise for the past two centuries. It has served to make the United States the most bountiful, wealthy and charitable nation on earth. Yet, Mr. Moran says that system “doesn't work in the long run.”

The MLA is a unique summer program which seeks to transform young men and women into well-balanced leaders. The program resembles the military lifestyle by introducing the cadets to positive role models, teaching them leadership skills, and testing their resolve through rigorous mental and physical challenges. The MLA also shows students the greatness of America by showcasing our countries’ history and heroes.

On July 26, Freedom Alliance sponsored the first IA Festival in Bremerton, Washington, for the families of Individual Augmentees (IA). IA sailors are taken from their assigned ship and their fellow shipmates and dropped into Army units. Because these sailors don’t deploy with their ships, family members have little or no support system like they would have from a “traditional” deployment. More than 67,000 sailors have served IA tours since September 11, 2001, with more than 14,000 in the pipeline at any time. |
