Military Leadership Academy

Give to the AcademyThe Freedom Alliance Military Leadership Academy is an exciting, challenging, and rewarding summer camp for motivated high school students ages 14 – 18. The Academy utilizes the fundamental doctrines of military training to cultivate leadership potential and develop character in our participants.

During the two week sessions, our cadets learn leadership principles centered around our Academy Core Values of Selfless Service, Teamwork, Courage, Integrity, Dependablity, Responsibility, and Respect. Our cadets gain confidence and practical life skills from being faced with, and overcoming, mentally and physically challenging obstacles.

The mission of the Military Leadership Academy is to educate, motivate and inspire young Americans to become positive, productive leaders in their communities, to teach the importance of a physically fit, drug-free lifestyle and explain the necessity of teamwork and the value of service to a cause greater than one’s self. Simply, our vision is to transform young men and women into well grounded leaders.

MLA BrochureDuring the program, our cadets engage in practical military activities that teach leadership and build unit cohesion. These activities include land navigation, field tactics, tactical decision games, negotiating obstacle courses, bivouac elements and more.

In 2008, the core value of Selfless Service was put into action as students raised funds through a community “Support Our Troops” car wash in Williamsburg, Virginia. The proceeds were used to purchase “Gifts from Home” that were sent to service members serving overseas. The students sent 25 boxes filled with assorted necessities and requested items, along with personal letters of encouragement from the cadets to units serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Each training day, our cadets engage in discussion-style lessons that focus on thought-provoking topics including: Recent Medal of Honor Recipients, the Leadership Challenges of America's Founding Fathers, Urban Combat and Unconventional Warfare, and more! Cadets also compete in a global crisis simulation that further develops critical thinking and decision-making skills.

The Military Leadership Academy is a summer program dedicated to encouraging American high school students to serve their country.
